Why We Called It Windows Down
A guitar melody, an open window, a little room to drift. The feeling behind Gallery Frequency.

Windows Down is a small scene before it is a song title. You can picture the window opening, feel the air coming in and imagine the music carrying beyond the car. There is movement in it, but no particular demand to arrive.
That was a useful feeling to build around for Gallery Frequency. I wanted a listening space inside Infinity Illustrated: music with artwork, something you could settle into while the rest of the day continued around you.
Let the melody lead
As we developed Windows Down, the direction became clearer: bring the guitar forward. Give it a melody you can follow. Let the bass and drums keep things moving, with room for the other instruments to answer.
There is a difference between music that politely occupies the background and music that invites you to listen without insisting. For this track, I wanted that second feeling. Relaxed does not have to mean indistinct. A phrase can be clear, playful and memorable while leaving space around it.
The idea grew out of the smooth-jazz radio atmosphere we were exploring for the station. The title helped keep the direction concrete. Whenever the arrangement needed a decision, there was a scene to return to: open air, easy movement, a tune that makes the journey feel good.
From the road to a window seat
The visual eventually took us above the road. Somewhere Between pairs the track with a plane and clouds. At first, that might seem like a different setting for a song called Windows Down. To me, the connection is the view: the world moving past while you have a little time to look.
An image does not need to illustrate a title literally to belong with the music. Clouds give the guitar room. The plane suggests a journey without supplying a plot. Together, they leave enough unfinished for the listener to bring something of their own.
A place to return to
That is the direction I want Gallery Frequency to keep exploring. Each track can have its own artwork and atmosphere, while the station remains familiar. Some days it might feel like a late drive; other days, a window seat with nowhere urgent to look.
The ambition is modest and specific: give a few minutes of your day a different setting. Something to hear, something to watch, and enough room to enjoy both.
Settle into the sound. Sounds worth staying for.
